Description

The Advance HE/HEA fellowship demonstrates a personal and institutional commitment to professionalism in learning and teaching. Across four categories, from Associate to Principal, Fellowship provides individuals with recognition of their practice, impact and leadership of teaching and learning. 

 If you are a member of staff working in the professional services team with some teaching or learning support responsibilities or an academic new to teaching and learning or an experienced academic leading learning and teaching initiatives, one or more of the following sessions may be of interest to you.

 There are three sessions we are delivering and depending on the stage of Fellowship you are at/are interested in please attend one or more sessions as appropriate. 

         I.            9.30 to 11.30 am: Introduction to the Fellowship Scheme (to help identify the fellowship category best suited for you) 

       II.            12 to 2pm: Applying for the Fellowship of the Advance HE

    III.            3.30 to 4.30pm: Applying for the Senior Fellowship of Advance HE

 The sessions will be led by Dr Cathal O’ Siochru (Associate Professor in Education Studies) and Dr Namrata Rao (Professor of Education).

REF 2029: Whats Changing and What It Means for Strategy

Description

These sessions will provide a focused overview of REF 2029 following the latest announcements, outlining the structure of the exercise, key changes, and what comes next. Alongside this, they will draw on direct experience from serving on the People, Culture and Environment (PCE) Pilot panels, offering practical insight into how submissions are assessed and what distinguishes stronger approaches.

The emphasis will be on helping colleagues think ahead. The sessions are designed to support early strategic reflection on contributions to knowledge and understanding, engagement and impact, and strategy, people and research environment, and to consider how individual and collective activity aligns with the evolving expectations of REF 2029.

 

Session dates/times are as follows and colleagues are encouraged to attend one of the following sessions:

 

Wednesday 29th April - 11.00am to 12.30pm - Hope Park

 

Friday 1st May - 10.00am to 11.30am - Hope Park

 

Friday 8th May -10.00am to 11.30am - Creative Campus
