Store User Guide
Please refer below to the step-by-step instructions for buying items on the University on-line store. How do I register with the On-line Store? The first time you buy from the Online Store you need to register as a customer. Select ‘This is my first visit' and enter your e-mail address then click the ‘Next' button. This will be the only email address we can use to communicate with you about your order, so please ensure it is correct. If you have bought products from the Online Store before select ‘I am already registered' and type in your e-mail address and password. Keep your password secret and do not disclose it or share it with anyone. If at any time you forget your password just click on the link ‘Forgot Password' on the left hand side of the screen and an e-mail will be sent reminding you of it. Please note that you are responsible for all activities and orders that are submitted on your registered customer account. If you know or suspect that your password is known by others you should immediately log in under your existing password and amend your registration details or contact the Online Store Email store@hope.ac.uk or call 0151-291-3833 and ask to speak to Jamie Maguire. The University reserves the right to suspend or cancel a registered customer account at our discretion or if you breach any of the terms and conditions identified within this Policy. Once you have set up a registered customer account you can log in and out of our On-Line Store at any time. Please note we accept no responsibility for any inability to connect to our service due to your own technical problems, any period when essential maintenance is being carried out or any other problems arising on the Internet from external sources.
If you already know the easiest way to find it is to type its name in the search box underneath the heading Product Catalogue. If you want to browse view the products on-line by clicking in the product catalogue and then onto the different headings. To find out more about a product, click Read More to see more detailed product information page. All items for sale on the store are offered subject to availability and certain goods will have stock limits and purchasing limits. We accept no liability for the lack of availability of our products or services featured. Although we are not required to explain why certain products or services are no longer available whenever possible we will continuously update our product availability to satisfy customer demand. What is the Shopping Basket? The Shopping Basket is where you put items you want to buy. When you find a product you would like to buy, click the Add to Basket button on the item's product information page. Once the product is in your basket if you want to buy anything else click the ‘Continue Shopping' button. To take any item out of your shopping basket tick the item you wish to remove and click the ‘Remove' button. When you've added everything you want to the Shopping Basket, click the ‘checkout' button so you can make payment. Once you have a customer account we need to know where to send your order. Complete this information on the screen as requested and check it is accurate before you click the ‘Proceed to Payment' button. Please note most of the services available from the On-Line Shop do not need delivery details and some of the goods are only sold for collection from University locations. For purchases to be delivered a confirmation e-mail will be sent by the University showing what you have bought and the delivery address. Please note items will only be dispatched Monday to Friday. How can I make payment? You can pay using Mastercard, Visa credit card, Switch, Solo or Delta debit card. Your card details will be encrypted and for security reasons will not be held once your transaction is successfully completed. This means that on subsequent visits you will need to input your card details again. Payment in full must be made when you place an order. Any subsequent cancellation of your order will be refunded to the credit card used in the original transaction. Make sure when you enter your credit or debit card details the numbers are without spaces or dashes. My payment was unsuccessful what can I do? Refer to ‘Card Payment Issues link’ I’ve placed my order and paid – what happens next? All orders are confirmed both on screen and by e-mail. An e-mail will be sent if there are any delivery problems with your order so please make sure the e-mail address on your customer account is current and you check it regularly. Who do I contact if I have a query about my order? Please see 'Contact Us'. You should contact the Department selling the goods in the first instance; check the contact details given on your email receipt and on the Online Store Department pages. This confirms you are using a secure site with the highest level of authentication and verification on each and every visit. Authentic sites use Thawte SSL web server certification to offer secure communications by encrypting all data to and from the site. If you wish you can click on the Thawte Trusted Site Seal to view the site SSL Certificate to confirm the site's validity. In addition, all e-mail communications in and out of the University are scanned and checked for viruses. If any e-mails are found to contain viruses they will be blocked in order to safeguard the integrity of the entire system. |
