Research & Inquiry Skills Training
The University requires that an electronic copy of all research theses is deposited in Hope’s Institutional Research Archive (HIRA), from where it will be publicly available. This session will discuss the benefits of making your final thesis open access and show students how the process works. We will also consider important issues around copyright and discuss the criteria for requesting an embargo on your thesis being made publicly available.
When: Tuesday 20th February: 14:00-15:00
When: Friday 23rd February: 10:00-11:00
Using reference management software, such as Mendeley or Zotero, can offer several significant benefits to researchers. This session will focus on Zotero and demonstrate how it can help you gather and manage the resources you will collect throughout your research. You will see how to create and set up an account, collect and organise references from different sources, share your library with collaborators, annotate PDFs and generate reference lists in Word or Google Docs.
When: Wednesday 7th February: 14:00-15:00
