Course Description

The Church module is one of six core modules for the Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies. The study topics cover the role and nature of the Church and its mission in the world today. This module will enable you to:
• Become familiar with Vatican II teaching on the Church;
• Be aware of the variety of roles in the Church from the earliest days and developed in later practice;
• Recognise the relationship of the Church to the world as one of mission and service;
• Appreciate the relationship between the Catholic Church and other Christian denominations;
• Communicate what has been learned and reflected upon from a professional stance.

Assessment for the module is through online participation and a 1500 word written assignment.
