External Students CCRS Online - Old Testament

This CCRS core module is delivered fully online. This unit will open on the 9th of October and close on  the 11th of December with the end of module assignment due no later than 11th of December. Course Description

This module sets out to explore Christianity in the Catholic tradition by introducing the writings of the
Old Testament in order to recognise God’s revelation and its continuing relevance in Christian life
today. After completing this module you should
• be familiar with the books and types of literature which make up the Old Testament and be
able to set them in context;
• be able to make connections between a particular type of literature and the belief the words
express;
• recognise the diversity of images of God in the Old Testament;
• appreciate the significance of the Covenant relationship for the people of Israel;
• understand the relevance of the Old Testament and its use in the Catholic community today;
• be able to communicate what you have learned and reflected upon from an adult stance.
