Course Description

This specialist module links Catholic theology with professional practice and personal development. The aim of the module is to examine the role of Curriculum Religious Education with particular reference to teaching and learning in a Catholic school. Learning outcomes for the module are to:
• Recognise the distinctive character and ethos of the Catholic school;
• Gain awareness of the underlying principles of Catholic education;
• Appreciate the special role, value and significance of RE within a     Catholic school;
• Enhance professional knowledge, understanding and skills for teaching RE in a Catholic school;
• Reflect upon and communicate what has been learned from a professional stance.

CCRS online attendance and assessment will apply as usual for this module.
